Youth Fitness & Swim/Track


Youth Swim Program (non-competitive)
Ages 8-12
Requirements:
-Be able to swim 25m (one length of the main pool) in any stroke comfortably (sidestroke, front crawl, breastrokestroke or backstroke).
-This would be approximately Red Cross level 6 or higher
Focus:
-Stroke proficiency (Front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly)
-Diving and flip turns
-Introduction to speed and endurance

 Teen Fitness Program (non-competitive)
Ages 13+

Requirements:
-None
Focus:
-Basic introduction to competitive skills such as race dives and race turns
-Stroke correction as required
-Emphasis on endurance and cardio (building up to a comfortable 500m swim)
-Fitness and strength 
-Non-weight-bearing cross training 

Swim/Track Program (non-competitive)
Ages 9-18 
Tuesday, March 31 to mid-June (12 week program)
Each week:
1. One day of coached swimming (choose Monday or Wednesday or Friday – same day each week or mix it up, we are flexible) 3:45pm-4:45pm
2. One day of coached track (choose Tuesday or Thursday) 4pm-5:30pm

Thinking of becoming a Lifeguard??  Endurance and strong technique swimmer are crucial to becoming a lifeguard.  Swim Club focuses on strength, stamina and stroke improvement.  Additionally it is not required that your child completes Red Cross Level 10 (or any Red Cross lessons) in order to register for the Bronze levels and Lifeguarding courses thus Swim Club is a wonderful option if your older child is vying for a lifeguard job.
60 minutes in the water practices
Mondays (3:45pm – 4:45pm) &/or Wednesdays (3:45pm – 4:45pm) &/or Fridays (3:30pm – 4:30pm)
